Please join us for the Bar Harbor parade

When the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce announced this year that the organizers of the Independence Day parade “would like to keep the event as green as possible” it made perfect sense to those of us Greens in Hancock County to be part of the parade. After all, what could be greener than the Maine Green Independent Party?

So we’ll be marching in the parade and we invite all Maine Greens to join us. The parade will be held on Saturday, July 3, so you can spend the start of the Independence Day weekend in Bar Harbor and still be back home for your own local celebration on Sunday.

If you’ve not been to Bar Harbor in a while, this is a perfect time to do so. We’ll help promote the Green Ten Key Values with our presence in the parade, and get the word out about Green Party candidates running for the legislature. Those watching will be from all over Maine, so we want to encourage as many candidates as possible to join us. Marching together we’ll show strength and unity, and it’s likely that there will people watching from every district in Maine where we’re running candidates. Please join us if you can.

We need to be lined up for the parade by 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, so plan to head out early, beat the traffic, and spend some time Down East.
